Intern Responsibilities

The interns' responsibilities include one week on night duty, then 5 weeks on day rotation. Additionally, adjacent to the Hollywood Animal Hospital is its Well Health Care/Outpatient Clinic for routine services. This facility increases our square footage to approximately 15,000 square feet.

Continuing education is encouraged, as is publishing, although the latter is not mandatory. Intern attendance at a regional or national meeting is financially supported. In-house presentations occur on a rotating basis. The intern's membership in the American Animal Hospital Association and the South Florida Academy, as well as malpractice insurance will be paid for by Hollywood Animal Hospital. A base salary is provided for interns with additional compensation for receiving emergency patients. Base and emergency compensation is variable yearly and can be obtained through the VIRMP matching program information. Two weeks vacation and one week for meetings round out the benefits.
