Prescription Medication Requests

We store a large majority of prescription medications here at Hollywood Animal Hospital for both our hospitalized and outpatient animals. If you need to fill or refill a medication for your pet, please call in advance to allow us ample time to process your request. We must determine whether we have the medication in stock, verify the prescription with your veterinarian, package and label it. As you can imagine, the number of med requests can become quite extensive so calling in advance is very helpful.

Appointments

In order to allow time for all of our patients and surgical procedures, we utilize an appointment system and patient updated desk (Ext. 138), at Hollywood Animal Hospital. Recently we have updated our phone system to better support the high volume of incoming phone calls that include both appointment scheduling and/or surgery scheduling directly. We often have emergencies throughout our normal office hours however the cost of that visit will be a small amount higher in those special situations. Unexpected medical emergencies throughout the day may cause unavoidable delays for any of our doctors schedules so please realize that we make a sincere effort to see each client as close to if not at their allotted appointment time. For more information on making an appointment, please click here.

Admitting & Releasing

In order to provide the best care, all patients will be admitted into the hospital by a doctor. When you pick up your pet, the discharging doctor will provide you with any instructions or medications pertinent to your pet’s needs.

Patient Updates

To allow us time to perform morning examinations and treatments on our hospitalized patients, please call after 10:00 a.m. We now offer a specific telephone extension for Patients Updates – Extension #138 after you dial our normal office phone number (954)920-3556. Obviously if there is any significant change in your pet’s condition, we will attempt to contact you immediately.

Taking your pet home after being hospitalized

When your pet arrives home, it is wise to not allow him/her to drink an excessive amount of water or eat a large amount of food. This common mistake may cause vomiting and/or diarrhea. Instead, withhold food and water until he or she has calmed down unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian.

Payment

Payment is due at the time services are rendered. A deposit may be required for certain procedures/surgeries that are extensive and require hospitalization. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and personal checks. Sorry, we do not accept American Express. For those who are eligible, we also offer a Care Credit service which is applied for on site. Please discuss any other arrangements with your doctor or the staff prior to services being performed.
If you have any billing inquires, concerns, issues in general, you may contact Denise Sams in our Accounts Receivable Department at Extension #131.
