Services We Offer

Preventative Medicine Preventative medicine: is the hallmark of care for our beloved companions. This includes both the administration of regular vaccines, monthly heartworm preventative, and flea and tick control. These coupled with the appropriate diet and loving environment, your pet can have a long and healthy life. Vaccination protocols are developed specifically for the individual. All animals are different in relationship to their potential exposure and thus the frequency of vaccination and which vaccines are indicated varies with the individual. We at HAH take pride in providing an individual protocol.
Microchip Insertion Microchip insertion: The use of microchips has developed into one of the main focuses in lost pet return. It is a simple injection that is done at the top of the shoulder or back of the neck. The chip, the size of a piece of rice is placed, and can be detected by the scan of a wand. With the constant fear of hurricanes in our area, this mode of identification has allowed us multiple successes in the return of pets to their owners.
Diagnostics Diagnostic: The diagnostics available to veterinary medicine today include; ultrasonography, digital radiology, EKG and the laboratory. Along with the age old use of the doctor’s eyes, ears, hands and the skills in palpation, these modalities have provided to us a fantastic grouping of equipment and skills in the care and diagnosis of our pets’ illnesses.
Internal Medicine Internal medicine: Both the diagnosis and care of internal disease is maintained through our diagnostic equipment and those therapies provided by our doctors and veterinary technical team.
Total Hip Replacement

Total hip replacement: This service is available through the surgical team of
Dr Jon Dee and Dr Jon Dice of the The Ohio State University surgical team. They have returned many orthopedically crippled dogs to a renewed lifespan. Dr. Jon Dee is known the world over for his skill in the area of orthopedics.

Trauma Care Trauma care: Our hospital technicians and veterinary assistants are acutely aware of the nursing care and intense therapy required for the traumatized individual. Whether you pet comes in during our after hours emergency service or during regular business hours, we can strive to provide the efficiency and compassion you and your pet deserve.
EKG Electrocardiography: Through the use of the EKG, cardiac arrhythmias can be diagnosed, and the appropriate therapy administered.
Laboratory: Our laboratory is staffed with a laboratory technologist and two technicians. With their training and knowledge our doctors are able to provide comprehensive blood, urine and microbiological tests. Through double blind testings, their results are constantly being monitored by outdoor labs, to aid us in giving our patients the most accurate and consistent results possible.
Dental care: Our hospital provides four stations for dental care, plus one room specifically for the more in depth dental procedures such as roots canals or crown placement. Digital dental radiography has played a significant role in the diagnosis and care of the oral diseases that many of our patients develop. As of late the introduction of Anesthesia Free Dentistry has become very popular. This has allowed many of our aged patients to undergo the dental procedure without the concern of the anesthetic administration.
Medicated Baths Medicated and insecticidal bathing: This is available through our kennel department, both in the care of the infected skin or those pets that have developed external parasites in the way of fleas, ticks or sarcoptic/demodectic mange.
Chemotherapy Oncology: Cancer therapy, surgery, and oncological services are available through various methods here at the Hollywood Animal Hospital. These medical procedures have been proven to extend the health and life of many of our patients.
Radiology: Over the last two years we have installed two digital radiography units plus digital dental capabilities. These units allow us the ability to radiograph and review the film in the matter of minutes. The films are available to clients on a cd format, which can then be viewed on their home computer. With the advent of the computer and our two digital radiography units we also have the ability to e-mail real time radiographs to a board certified rediologist in another part of the country for review and additional consultation.
Dietary products: We are pleased to be able to provide both Hill’s and Purina prescription dietary products to our clients. They have significantly aided in the care of multiple disease processes.
Flea Control Products Flea control products: With the availability of newer products, the flea control for our pets has significantly improved. The use of Advantage, Advantix, Frontline, and Revolution have all aided us in providing a comfortable environment for our friends.
Arthroscopy Arthroscopy: Arthroscopy is available at our hospital thus allowing us the ability to view the inside of some joints. This service is available through Dr. Jon Dee.

24 hour emergency care: Hollywood Animal Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for after hour and emergency care. There is a doctor in the hospital at all hours of the day and night along with skilled technicians to assist with emergencies. *Emergency fees will apply outside of regular office hours.*

Blood Bank Bloodbank: We maintain several pets at our hospital that are able to make our bloodbank successful. These pets are like family to HAH and are maintained in a home like environment. We are the only animal hospital in the area to offer this vital service.
Endoscopy Endoscopy: Endoscopy is the insertion of a scope, either orally or rectally in the animal. This allows us the visualization of the lining of the stomach or intestinal tract. This ability allows biopsies and the removal of foreign objects from those areas.
Referral Care Referral Care: Because of our gifted surgical team and state of the art equipment, HAH is often referred to by many of our community veterinarians. Our goal is to work one on one with the referring doctor. Case reports are discussed and then follow up care is recommended with the referring doctor.
Ultrasound: Our ultrasound machine is one of the newest to the veterinary and human market today. It allows us the ability to see within cavities without the use of surgery. Commonly used in cardiac evaluation and the evaluation of other abdominal organs. The recent advent of this modality has greatly aided us in our diagnostic capabilities.
