Surgical Services

We have served as a referral center for surgical cases for the South Florida area for many years. General and specialty surgical services including orthopedic, maxillofacial, cardiopulmonary and neurological services are available. Procedures are performed in single purpose surgical suites, using the latest in anesthetic and operative monitoring techniques.

Patient comfort and pain relief are an integral part of our practice philosophy. All patients are provided the latest in pain management during the post-operative period. Continuous monitoring of surgical patients during this period helps ensure an uneventful recovery. As a full service referral hospital, we require additional supervision of our critical patients. We meet this requirement by providing an attending doctor on premises 24 hours a day. We have provided this service to our hospitalized patients for many years.

Soft Tissue Surgery: Here at HAH we have many gifted doctors who perform soft tissue surgery. Whether you pet has suffered from an injury, developed a neoplasm or you have decided to alter or spay him/her, we strive to provide the utmost in care.

Orthopedic Surgery: HAH is known for its strong orthopedic team. Total hip replacement, anterior cruciate ligament repair, pelvic injuries and congenital orthopedic diseases are all procedures in which our doctors excel. TPO and TPLO are hip and knee surgeries that are commonly performed.

Laser Surgery: We have utilized laser surgery for many years in that it allows both a decrease in surgical bleeding and associated discomfort in the patient. The most common use of laser surgery is for the declawing of cats.
